A unique, results-oriented approach
I help others discover HOW to make better use of their natural “inner technology” to enhance the quality of their lives.
I’m a long-time practitioner of the art and science of change, and the Founder of Center for Advanced Life Skills in Los Angeles—a Board Approved School of Hypnosis, Institute of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) Coaching and Institute of Time Line Therapy®, where I teach many certification trainings throughout the year.
Though my coaching specialties are Personal Breakthroughs, Men’s Issues, Life Transitions and the Release of Fear and Anxiety, I can help facilitate any change or improvement that a client commits to achieving.
KEY COMPONENTS OF MY APPROACH
- I highly customize the coaching process to the total uniqueness of every client.
- I don’t try to fit you into hypothetical theories of human behavior (boxes)—I help you get out of boxes.
- During our work together, you’ll focus on solutions and learning new things (not problems).
- We’ll quickly uncover the unique inner structure of what’s not working so well for you, and replace it with something that works better.
- We’ll zero in more on how you think (your unique process) rather than what you think (your content).
- I’ll help you gain more control over your unique mental and emotional processes.
- You’ll discover change can be fast and fun (rather than slow and agonizing).
- You have the solutions deep within you. I will guide you to discover and tap into your true potential. (Prepare to be amazed by what ‘you didn’t know you didn’t know‘.)
Some priceless byproducts of this work are: sharper focus, enhanced creativity, heightened intuition, strengthened self-esteem, increased options and a greater sense of purpose and wholeness.

COACHES WHO USE NLP GET SOLID RESULTS
The simple fact is that many in the coaching profession are not trained to work with a client’s unconscious (or subconscious) mind.
Consequently, they often lack both a deeper understanding of their clients’ unique issues, and reliable methods to help their clients get results. This can routinely lead to a “cookie cutter” approach to coaching—with plenty of “one size fits all” advice, “hit or miss” pep talks and well-meaning platitudes.
It’s important to realize that intelligence (conscious mind) and behavior (unconscious mind) are often incongruent. Your desired behavior and your actual behavior are commonly at odds. You say one thing, yet do another.
Our unconscious minds are responsible for 90-95% of our thoughts and actions. It’s crucial for a coach to have as much experiential training in this area as possible.

NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) and Hypnotherapy are two of the fastest, most powerful modalities known to access the hidden powers of the unconscious mind and help one gain true insight into their unique nature, painlessly remove deep-rooted blockages and achieve successful outcomes.
What makes me different as a coach is my highly customized approach and rare skill set in the effective use of advanced change technologies. I use these skills daily in my coaching practice and I also teach and certify others (for nearly a decade) in their best usage.
This allows me to work effectively with a client’s conscious and unconscious mind (where their programming is) for the purpose of facilitating deep change. I’m able to tap into and explore how a client communicates within themselves at the innermost level and help them better that communication so they can reach higher potentials in their life.
HYPNOTHERAPY IS PROFOUNDLY EFFECTIVE
Approved by the American Medical Association in 1958, hypnotherapy has long been known as a beneficial, evidence-based solution for stress, habit control, and self-improvement.
The article Hypnosis: The Most Effective Treatment You Have Yet to Prescribe published in the American Journal of Medicine (3/2021) mentions “robust evidence” for using hypnosis “for myriad ailments” and “sound mechanistic data” that supports its use.
It also states that “if hypnosis was a drug, it would be standard of care” because it “improves procedural pain and emotional distress and reduces medication consumption up to 40%”.
In fact, a comparative study found hypnotherapy to be one of the most effective of all the major therapeutic approaches (see study below).
- HYPNOTHERAPY (6 SESSIONS) 93%
- COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (22 SESSIONS) 72%
- PSYCHOANALYSIS (600 SESSIONS) 38%
Published in Psychotherapy Magazine, v7n1 and Psychotherapy: Theory, Research, and Practice
Hypnotherapy is an impressive choice in terms of (1) cost, (2) short duration of therapy, and (3) results. But many don’t realize that modern hypnotherapy is less about programming someone with scripts or suggestions, and more of an opportunity to help them access the amazing skills of their creative, unconscious mind.
BIOFEEDBACK FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT
Learning how to self-regulate your physiology in a healthy direction is one of the most important skills to have—particularly in the face of stress, challenge or adversity.
Self-regulation is the ability to act in your long-term best interest, consistent with your deepest values. In the emotional sense, it’s the ability to calm yourself down when you’re upset, and lift yourself up when you’re down.
I am certified in the clinical use of biofeedback for stress management, anxiety reduction and self-regulation. Biofeedback is an evidence-based, mind-body technique that refers to the use of specialized equipment to measure (and then feedback) information about your physiology for the purpose of improving physical, mental, emotional and spiritual health.

I utilize the highly effective HeartMath® system of scientifically based biofeedback tools and technologies with my clients, which empowers them to: regulate their emotions and behaviors; reduce stress; increase resilience; and unlock their natural intuitive guidance for making more effective choices.
Over 300 peer-reviewed or independent studies utilizing HeartMath® techniques or technologies to achieve beneficial outcomes have been published.
Please view the FAQ section below for more detailed information on my functional coaching approach using NLP, Hypnotherapy and Biofeedback.

What is coaching?
Every world champion has had a coach. —Jay Conrad Levinson
Sometimes a person doesn’t always know exactly what to do to make the change and improvement they need in their lives. Deep down, they know they can do it, but they stumble around a bit, trying this and that. Then, they reach their “enough is enough” point and are finally willing to do what it takes to learn how to achieve their goal.
Coaching is the process of helping people and teams to perform at the peak of their abilities. It involves drawing out people’s strengths, helping them to bypass personal barriers and limits in order to achieve their personal best. —Robert Dilts
Coaching can better your ability to create the future you desire in your personal and professional life. An excellent coach will use a variety of proven skills, solution-oriented strategies and transformative techniques—all uniquely designed to get results.
One of the many ways he or she can help you is in developing greater communication skills within yourself (self-talk) and with others.
The results are: better performance in life!
How are you different than other coaches?
I believe that my clients already have all the resources within that they need in order to achieve their desired outcome. And I help them tap into those resources.
Rather than force my “model of the world” onto my clients, or limit them (and my results with them) by putting them “in a box” (or theory), I work within their “model of the world” and help them to discover the solutions that were hidden there.
THE DIFFERENCE THAT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE:
You have a conscious mind, and you have an unconscious (or subconscious) mind. I work holistically with both, to encourage whole brain thinking; thereby maximizing your strengths, flexibility and resourcefulness.
There’s a big difference between one’s intellect (their conscious mind) and their behavior (their unconscious, or habitual mind). It’s the difference between “talking the talk” (desired behavior) and “walking the walk” (actual behavior). The difference that makes the difference.
The simple fact is many in the coaching profession are not trained to work with your unconscious mind. This means that they can be limited in dealing with your negative emotions, behavioral issues and unresolved inner conflicts. And these are the very elements that, more often than not, stand in the way of your success!
WHY THAT’S IMPORTANT
There is no better improvement a person can make than to gain more control over their internal, mental and emotional processes. My emphasis is on helping my clients gain greater control of these processes. It’s directly related to a person’s ability to be productive, resourceful, and effective.
Another problem sometimes with being coached by someone with little to no experience with (and understanding of) the unconscious mind, is it can often sound like a bunch of platitudes without any precise method to increase your motivation and get your desired results.
Many coaches offer a whole lot of WHAT, and not a lot of HOW. So, you’ll get a lot of conscious concepts that appeal to your intellect, or conscious mind (about 10% of your mind, the “tip of the iceberg”). However, most significant behavioral change occurs with the involvement and cooperation of the habitual, or unconscious mind (the other 90%).
WORKING WITH ME
This is why a professional who’s been highly-trained and board certified in Creating Your Future® Coaching, NLP and Clinical Hypnotherapy is often a greater resource to a client seeking solid help with a problem or goal in their life because they are simply better equipped to guide that client toward a successful outcome and an enhanced quality of life.
We have a thorough understanding of deep behavior modification, as well as expertise in proven systems that facilitate deeper levels of long-term change so we can quickly help you to gain profound insight, resolve old patterns, and let go of the negativity, limiting beliefs, and inner conflicts that are blocking happiness, prosperity and success from your life. This leads to increased wholeness and more options in life for you.
So, not only is your issue resolved—you’ll experience a significant Personal Breakthrough as well.
How are you different than a traditional therapist?
We won’t spend a lot of time focusing (or wallowing) in the content of “the problem”.
We focus on: (1) how you process that content; (2) discovering the structure of what prevents you from achieving your goal; (3) changing that structure to make your goal more achievable; (4) the overall development and growth of you as an individual during the process; and (5) your future goals and objectives.
TRADITIONAL THERAPY
In traditional forms of therapy, you are a ”patient”, with the therapist having ”the solution”. There is usually a focus on the patient being “broken” and in need of being “fixed”. In other words, it generally involves the diagnosis of pathology (mental illness).
Through conversation, the patient is encouraged to relive, understand, and resolve old pain. In most psychotherapy, the patient’s progress is time consuming and can be agonizing.
MY COACHING STYLE
My work involves encouraging and guiding my clients to find their own solutions in the present. I help them discover the process that prevents the achievement of their goals, painlessly remove obstacles, and learn new ways of thinking and looking at things.
Through a results-oriented focus on actions, outcomes, and process, my clients build more control over their inner capabilities to create a compelling and achievable future for themselves. And the changes amaze most clients since they are so fast and so much fun!

How long does it take to get results?
Are you looking for a quick fix, or are you ready to commit to making the change now?
As Albert Einstein once said, “You can’t solve a problem from the same mindset that created it. You must learn to see the world anew.”
And that learning is a process.
The recommended duration of your coaching program will depend on your individual issue(s), and will be determined during your initial visit.
The average client’s recommended coaching program lasts from 2 to 3 months.
Each of my clients uniquely experiences varying levels of improvement, change, and growth as we progress toward the achievement of their outcome.
Realize that our work together will be a healthy partnership and solid investment in your happiness, success and wellbeing as you learn to redirect your mind toward even greater states of positive potential.
Clients who are fully willing to make the conscious effort to do the appropriate work necessary for the changes they want in their lives are the ones who typically achieve the fastest results. This is because they support the overall success of the process by fully intending to do what they say they’re going to do, and are sincerely committed throughout the duration of their recommended coaching program.
I don’t know if you’ve ever thought about it, but there’s a distinct difference in truly wanting to resolve your issue, and “wanting to want” to resolve it. Is your wanting it important enough for you to act on it now, and do what it takes to get what you say you want? Or do you require more suffering before you reach your “Enough is Enough” point?
Because there’s a large amount of truth in the saying: “If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always gotten”.
What is hypnotherapy and how can it help me?
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis as a therapeutic technique. It’s been approved by the American Medical Association since 1958. And it’s long been known as an effective, evidence-based solution for stress, habit control and self-improvement.
The purpose of hypnosis as a therapeutic technique is to help you understand and gain more control over your behavior, emotions or physical well-being.
THE MAYO CLINIC
You have a “treasure chest” hidden deep within your mind that can allow you to create some very effective changes in your life within a relatively short period of time. It’s called your unconscious (or subconscious) mind. And it’s considered to be the source of your motivation, habits, behaviors, attitudes, emotions, and self-talk.
I believe hypnosis has profound powers to help you stop sabotaging yourself.
DR. OZ
How’d you know to be you when you got up this morning? Your unconscious (or habitual) mind is a lot like a database that runs patterns of behavior—largely independent of your conscious mind—based on your programming from your past. In other words, you’re “on auto-pilot” the majority of your day. Hypnotherapy accesses and unlocks this powerful part of the mind in order to help you quickly and easily change (or “re-write”) your old programming and patterns of behavior.
Hypnosis is a heightened sense of suggestibility for accessing the subconscious mind which is responsible for up to 90 to 95 percent of our thoughts and actions.
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
When you want to make a change or improvement in your life, the logic of your conscious mind alone—without the cooperation of the motivation from your unconscious mind—is often ineffective. (In other words, you “say it”, but you don’t “do it”.) Hypnotherapy can help you to effectively change habits of an entire lifetime and to create a healthier reality for yourself.
Hypnosis is the epitome of mind-body medicine. It can enable the mind to tell the body how to react, and modify the messages that the body sends to the mind.
THE NEW YORK TIMES
Hypnotherapy provides an ideal environment for learning new things (re-programming the database). A comparative study published in Psychotherapy Magazine, v7n1 and in Psychotherapy: Theory, Research, and Practice found hypnotherapy to be one of the most effective of all the major therapeutic approaches:
- Psychoanalysis: 38% recovery after 600 sessions
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy: 72% recovery after 22 sessions
- Hypnotherapy: 93% recovery after 6 sessions
Hypnotherapy is an impressive choice in terms of (1) the cost, (2) the short duration of therapy, and (3) the results.
I think it should be much more widely used. It’s safe, it’s inexpensive and it can produce dramatic results.
DR. ANDREW WEIL
What does hypnotherapy feel like? Is it safe?
Hypnotherapy is completely safe, relaxing, enjoyable and surprisingly effective.
Because of the often ridiculous way it’s often been portrayed in movies and TV, some mistakenly think it isn’t safe. However, the fact is: Therapeutic hypnosis has helped millions of people to create healthy change in their lives for the past 60 years.
Hypnosis is not mind control. It’s a naturally occurring state of concentration; It’s actually a means of enhancing your control over both your mind and your body—over perceptions such as pain, anxiety, habits, stress.
DR. DAVID SPIEGEL, Stanford University School of Medicine
Therapeutic hypnosis isn’t the same as “stage” hypnosis. Stage hypnosis is performed solely for the purpose of entertaining an audience. Therapeutic hypnosis is performed in a clinical setting—with your best interests in mind—by a hypnotherapist, solely for the purpose of helping you meet your desired outcome.
Even though stage hypnotists and TV shows have damaged the public image of hypnosis, a growing body of scientific research supports its benefits in treating a wide range of conditions, including pain, depression, anxiety and phobias.
AMERICAN PSYCHOLOGICAL ASSOCIATION
The state of hypnosis is a very natural, very real, very normal state of mind. In essence, it’s a receptive learning state. And it’s not so different from the state you’re in when you’re watching a good movie, daydreaming, enjoying an interesting book, being overwhelmed by the beauty of nature, or listening to song that moves you.
Contrary to how hypnosis is sometimes portrayed, you don’t lose control over your behavior while under hypnosis. You generally remain aware of and remember what happens under hypnosis.
THE MAYO CLINIC
It’s basically paying attention, while feeling increasing levels of relaxation. During hypnotherapy, you’ll remain completely aware of everything that’s going on, as you’re guided through some beneficial imaginative processes; so:
- Don’t expect to feel “hypnotized”.
- Do expect to feel relaxed.
- You won’t say or do anything you don’t want to.
- You’re in total control.
Your natural ability to go into relaxed states of focused awareness is utilized and enhanced through hypnotherapy for the purpose of helping you access, unlock and reprogram the deeper, motivating areas of your mind. And the results are: welcome changes in your behavior.
Though often denigrated as fakery or wishful thinking, hypnosis has been shown to be a real phenomenon with a variety of therapeutic uses…
SCIENTIFIC AMERICAN
Anyone can experience therapeutic hypnosis if they’re willing to, and can follow simple instructions. Those who claim they “can’t be hypnotized” usually (1) have yet to be informed about what therapeutic hypnosis actually is, and/or (2) are just unwilling to “be hypnotized”.
It’s a “do with” process, not a “do to” process.
What do the experts have to say about hypnotherapy?
